Who we are
This site is run by Vesta Legal Consulting Limited (company number 17326920), a company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is at Belmont Suite, Paragon Business Park, Chorley New Road, Bolton, BL6 6HG. We trade as Vesta and we are the data controller for the personal data described here.
What we collect
There are no forms on this site, so there is nothing here for you to fill in and nothing for us to store. We measure page views, which is covered below. If you choose to email us, your email and anything you include in it are handled through your email provider and ours.
Analytics
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies and reads nothing from your browser storage, so there is no cookie banner because there is nothing to accept or reject. It does not follow you across other websites or build a profile of you.
Instead of a cookie, Vercel identifies a visit using a hash derived from the incoming request. That visitor session is not stored permanently and is discarded after 24 hours. With each page view Vercel records the time, the page address and referring address, filtered query parameters, an approximate location from your IP address (country, region and city, but not the IP address itself), and your device type, operating system and browser version. We see this only as aggregate counts.
Why we use it
We use information you send by email to read your enquiry and reply to it. Our lawful basis under UK GDPR is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch. We use the page view counts to understand which pages people find useful, on the same lawful basis of legitimate interest in running and improving the site. We do not ask for consent for analytics because nothing is stored on or read from your device.
Where it goes
The site runs on Vercel, which also provides the analytics described above and acts as our processor for both. Like other hosting providers, Vercel processes limited technical request data, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and protect the site. Email enquiries are processed by the email providers used by you and Vesta. We do not sell your details.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry while the conversation is live and delete it once we no longer need it. Analytics visitor sessions are discarded after 24 hours, and what remains is aggregate page view counts that are not tied to any individual.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, hello@vesta.legal. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
